Bangalore, Jul 18 (PTI): A former aide of self-styled godman Nithyananda who claimed to have exposed an alleged sex scandal involving him today said he was a "single-man" army fighting for justice, despite the spate of false case foisted against him and all efforts by the Godman to delay trial.
Speaking to reporters here today, Lenin Karuppan said trial was yet to begin even 16 months after his 'expose' and seven months after filing of charghesheet. "I am single man army fighting for justice," he said. He alleged 14 complaints had been filed against victims, key witnesses, including 10 against him. Of eight complaints filed in Karnataka, five had been closed by CID after investigation. Lenin charged Nithyananda with not cooperating in the investigation and seeking bail relaxation under some pretext.
He also alleged that he had been intimidated by Nityananda's lawyers recently. He denied allegations hurled against him by Nithyananda and his associates of trying to blackmail them. Lenin said his objective in exposing the scandal was to prevent others from being abused and cheated. The daily income at the ashram he alleged was around Rs 10 to Rs 20 lakh per day.
